This page explains what personal data DeSchmidt Bricks processes when you visit this website or contact us, and what your rights are.

Who we are

This website is operated by DeSchmidt Bricks, a Dutch business selling LEGO® parts through BrickLink and BrickOwl. We are responsible for the personal data described on this page.

What we collect

We only process the personal data you send us yourself, plus basic technical data:

• Contact form: your name, e-mail address and message.
• If you use the contact form, we also send you one automatic confirmation e-mail with a copy of your message.
• E-mail or WhatsApp: whatever you choose to share, such as your name, phone number, photos and details of your collection.
• Technical data: our hosting provider keeps standard server logs, which include your IP address and the time of your visit.

Why we use it

We use your details to answer your question, to make an offer for your LEGO® collection, and to handle the resulting purchase, shipping and payment. The legal basis is our legitimate interest in responding to your message and, where a purchase follows, performing that agreement. Server logs are used only for security and to keep the website running.

How long we keep it

Messages and conversations are kept for up to 3 years after our last contact. Invoices and accounting records are kept for 7 years, as required by Dutch tax law. Server logs are kept by our hosting provider according to their own retention periods.

Who we share it with

We do not sell your data. We only share it with parties that help us run the business, and only as far as needed:

• Our hosting provider (site.nl), which runs this website and our e-mail.
• Bricqer, the tool we use to manage our BrickLink and BrickOwl orders.
• SnelStart, our bookkeeping software.
• BrickLink and BrickOwl, when you order from us there. These platforms have their own privacy policies.
• PostNL, to ship orders.
• Stripe or PayPal, when you pay with one of them.
• Our bank (Knab), when you pay by bank transfer.

Cookies

This website does not set cookies and does not use analytics or advertising trackers. If you choose a language, that choice is stored only in your own browser so the site remembers it; it is never sent to us. That is why there is no cookie banner.

External links

This website links to WhatsApp, BrickLink, BrickOwl, Google, Instagram and Facebook. Once you click a link, you leave our website and the privacy policy of that service applies. If you message us on WhatsApp, WhatsApp processes that conversation under its own terms.

Your rights

You can ask us to see, correct, export or delete your personal data, or object to how we use it. Send a message to the e-mail address below and we will respond within one month. If you think we handle your data incorrectly, you can also file a complaint with the Dutch Data Protection Authority (Autoriteit Persoonsgegevens).
